This Grand Canyon Skywalk tour starts in Phoenix and is so much more than just a scenic flight. Get ready because you’re about to discover America’s numero uno attraction by air, land and water!
It begins with a narrated, 75-minute flight from Phoenix to the Canyon’s west rim. Along the way, snap photos of beautiful desertscapes and woodlands. The second leg of your journey is a brief helicopter ride to the canyon floor. Of the 277 miles this part of the Grand Canyon occupies, this is the only spot that allows you to go below the rim without having to hike or travel horseback.
From below, you’ll take a short walk to the water and hop on a pontoon for a 20-minute ride along the Colorado River. From here, you’ll get right up close to ancient formations that tower hundreds and hundreds of feet to the heavens.
After the pontoon ride, it’s back to the helicopter, for a ride back to the top and then transport to the Skywalk! The looking point extends 65 feet over the side of a 4,000 foot drop!
If you want to conquer a fear of heights, this is probably the way to do it. The glass floor lets you gaze straight down into the Abyss for a dizzying display of nature’s grandeur.
Let’s recap, shall we? This Grand Canyon “Skywalk” tour includes:
If you’re on the lookout for the be-all and end-all of Grand Canyon tours, it’s not going to get much better than this!
Had a very interesting and exciting trip and enjoyed myself. I always feel good about learning something new and seeing something as awesome as the Grand Canyon. That view from the plane seeing the size of just part of it, wow.
This was the most incredible experience. We took our one year old and everyone was completely accomodating. Everything was comfortable, ran smoothly and was a fantastic day out. I will recommend everyone who visits Arizona to see the sights this way!
Awesome.Period.
