Embark on a breathtaking, narrated flight over Tonto National Forest - the largest national forest in Arizona! Past over the red-rock buttes of Sedona, heading south of Grand Canyon to witness aerial views of Coconino Plateau before your flying over the Grand Canyon itself.
Upon landing, you will hop into a private van and be driven inside the Grand Canyon National Park, where you can marvel at the natural landscape of the Canyon from the rim. You and your WFR (Wilderness First Responder) guide will be dropped off directly at the trail head to begin your 3 mile hike into the Grand Canyon.
Start with a series of switch backs before arriving at Ooo-Ahh Point. At this aptly named lookout point, the views open up to the panorama of the Grand Canyon in all directions.
Next, you will continue on to a picnic area at Cedar Ridge, dropping almost 1,200 feet in elevation and through more than 40 million years of geological history. This scenic trail is unique to the Grand Canyon in that it traverses along a ridge line instead of descending a side canyon, allowing for unobstructed views and excellent photo opportunities.
As you descend through the layers of rock strata, your guide will provide information on the Grand Canyon’s history, ecosystems, and geology. After recuperated from lunch, you explore Cedar Ridge and begin your ascent to the rim to visit the Yaki Point overlook. Your adventure is almost at its end, you will be collected by vehicle and driven back to the airport. Try and stay awake, enjoy the last of the views on your 1 hour flight back to Phoenix.
