Git along little dogies! Saddle up for two hours of Floridian horseback fun on a real cattle drive!
Your trusty steed for the day is a Florida Cracker Horse, otherwise known as a Chickasaw Pony, a breed known for its agility and speed. First introduced by the Spanish in the 16th century and bred by the Chickasaw tribe, this breed was developed and trained for peak performance in cattle control. And you’ll get to experience their ability up close and personal when you head out to the pastures to work the herd.
Your expert ranch guide will lead you through a history of cowboying in Old Florida and the essentials of these magnificent horses as well as what to expect when riding, handling, and herding. Then it’s out to the paddocks for the round up! This is not your regular trail ride experience. You’ll work together with your fellow “cowboys” to gather the herd and move to the corral, putting your new ranching talents to the test. If you’ve got the grit, you can even try your hand at real cowboy skills like cutting and sorting!
