Following a quick pilot briefing, you’ll be invited to assist with the setup of the balloon or to sit back and leave it to the crew. In anticipation of the flight ahead of you, you’ll be able to witness the mechanics and physics behind hot air balloon flight. Once the crew has geared everything up, you’ll get to enjoy a 50 to 70 minute flight.
Most flights are conducted from a field adjacent to the Ingles on Bethelview Rd. in Cumming, GA. This site is a favorite because it offers views of Lake Lanier, Chattahoochee River, Sawnee Mountain, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Skyline. The launch site is conveniently located just off GA-400 and is just outside the busy Atlanta Airspace.
