European Executives to visit Adrenaline
Georgetown University Exec Biz Students Also to Visit AOL, AES, Washington/Newsweek Post Interactive
Tuesday, November 7, 2000 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Adrenaline Group will host sixteen directors and company leaders from Northern Ireland. These business leaders are also visiting America Online, Washington Post/Newsweek Interactive and AES (the world's largest energy supplier) to examine "best practices" as part of an exchange program by Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business. The business leaders are being hosted by companies around the world as part of this global program, which is a senior executive diploma offered by the University of Ulster in partnership with London's Institute of Directors.
"We chose Adrenaline so that these executives could see how a technology company responds to change without compromising core values or quality product," said Georgetown University's George Liebensfeld, who arranged the visit. "Adrenaline is a vibrant, rapidly growing company. The organization is very participatory; corporate culture is still very much being shaped by all the people who work there."
During their two hours at Adrenaline, the business leaders will meet with key executives to discuss Adrenaline's corporate philosophy and policies for continuing the company's rapid growth in a constantly changing technology environment while maintaining high standards and a distinct culture. The European visit coincides with the second class of Adrenaline University, which the business leaders will have the opportunity to observe.
As a commitment to "smart growth," Adrenaline University's two-week program was developed to ensure every new employee learns company standards and culture. The program uses case studies and a mock client engagement to teach employees Adrenaline's unique product management methodology, and was developed specifically for Adrenaline by industry guru Brad Cox, founder and chief scientist of SuperDistribution, Inc. (www.superdistributed.com) Cox also created Objective-C, the Programming Language for the NeXT Computer Operating System.
The European executives will spend four days at Georgetown, where Georgetown's McDonough School of Business will offer training on "The Role of the Board in Organizing for Tomorrow." Mornings will be spent in class sessions, and afternoons will focus on learning about corporate culture at different organizations.
