Scott McLoughlin and Greg DuPertuis founded The Adrenaline Group in 1997. Both accomplished software engineers, they met while working at FreeLoader, Inc., developer of the first Internet push platform. Freeloader was a ZDNet Best of Breed product that was purchased by Individual, Inc. in 1996 for $38 million. Creating Adrenaline, they assembled a team of top-notch commercial application developers and set off to share their skills with Internet start-ups.
Adrenaline was founded on the belief that high value-added software-based offerings would separate the winners from the losers on the Internet. The founders understood that early movers on the web -- such as Yahoo and Amazon -- relied on custom software to provide the innovative features that would attract and satisfy customers. Adrenaline aimed to offer the same advantage to its clients, combining cutting-edge technologies with product strategy.
Adrenaline has moved from its original Virginia residence to a new 20,000 sq ft location in Washington, DC. The company has grown exponentially to over 65 clients and 70 employees, drawing from leading technology firms such as CyberCash, MIT Lincoln Labs, Microsoft, AOL, Student.com, and Appnet.
In the future, Adrenaline believes that all companies will become technology companies. They will touch their customers and they will compete with one another on the basis of innovative new technology offerings to their stakeholders. Adrenaline will continue to provide cutting-edge technology, along with winning product strategy, as products move from the web to remote devices and beyond.
